They kept sending notices that she needed to upgrade to a new phone or her service would run out when the ACP ended
That was a LIE!
Service didn't end. They just lowered the available text and service from unlimited
Recently they told mom they were going to send her to SIM card
They sent a new phone which was NOT what she wanted
It also would've cost money
Then they sent a text that the phone was being returned to them and the Issa Asad, owner of Qlink had plead guilty
Mom was in shock so she took to Google to find out more
'MIAMI –Issa Asad, 51, of Southwest Ranches, Fla., and Q Link Wireless LLC, of Dania Beach, Fla., pleaded guilty today to conspiring to defraud and commit offenses against the United States in connection with a years-long scheme to steal over $100 million from a celebrated federal program providing discounted phone service to people in need. Asad, Q Link’s CEO, also pleaded guilty to laundering money from a separate scheme to defraud a different federal program meant to aid individuals and businesses hurt by the Covid-19 pandemic'
And 'Meanwhile, Asad defrauded another federal government program, the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), by making false statements about Q Link’s business.'

November 4, 2024 - Update
Took mom to get a new phone on November 3, 2024
She needed to be able to use her old phone to call various people and providers to notify them of her phone number change. They have her account set up under the old number for verification purposes and it would show up on their caller I.D. and her account information was tied to it. That's how the people or providers could confirm she was who she said she was
So, she got up today to make her calls and she punched in the number(s) she needed to call and she got a message, "Your service ends soon...."
She couldn't call out!
All she got was that recording!?!?!
QLink Wireless had cut off her service 4 days before they were supposed to
Needless to say it wasn't easy for her today, because she had to jump through hoops to get the people or providers to believe her since they couldn't verify her using her phone number
In a way that's good, because it provides some security in a person being required to verify their identity
In other ways it was bad, because mom had to deal with the stress all because of QLink Wireless pulling some 🐂💩 and shutting off her service 4 days early!?!?
